WENKO is a member of the BSCI - Business Social Compliance Initiative - an initiative that stands for the improvement of the social standards in the producing countries. WENKO thus commits itself to include suppliers from countries outside Europe in an auditing and qualification process and to support their further development.

The BSCI code of conduct serves as a basis for control

It is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the UN Declaration on Human Rights, UN's conventions on children's rights and the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, the UN Global Compact and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The BSCI Code of Conduct formulates amongst other things the rights regarding the freedom of association and collective bargaining, the prohibition of discrimination and child labour and makes demands in the fields of wages, health and safety at work.
